Meet the Founder
The heart behind Zuri Behavioural Therapy is Maryanne Thiga, a compassionate behaviour professional and dedicated advocate for neurodivergent individuals. With a Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis with an emphasis on Autism, as well as a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Maryanne brings a well-rounded and holistic perspective to her practice. Her mental health counseling background strengthens her ability to support the emotional, social, and psychological needs of clients and their families, allowing her to approach behaviour not just as a set of skills, but as part of a person’s overall well-being.
With years of experience supporting children, youth, adults, and their families, and as a parent of a child with ASD and multiple disabilities, Maryanne believes that every individual is unique and deserves personalized, respectful, and meaningful support. Her goal is not to change who a person is, but to help them grow through their strengths and navigate their challenges with confidence.
Guided by this philosophy, Maryanne envisioned a practice where compassion, cultural understanding, and evidence-based care come together to create real and lasting change. She leads the Zuri team in fostering supportive environments where every individual is valued, understood, and empowered to build independence, confidence, and lifelong skills.
